Kebbi Govt restricts Motorcycle movement

Kebbi Government on Tuesday issued an indefinite restriction order on the movement of private and commercial motorcycles between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

This is contained in a statement by Alhaji Nurudeen Kangiwa, the Secretary to the State Government made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

The restriction, which is within the metropolis, is part of efforts to curb the incessant cases of armed robberies and other criminal activities.

According to the statement, the ban was approved by the State Security Council.

“Members of the public are requested to comply with the ban on the movement of motorcycles during the prescribed hours in their own interests.

“Security agencies have been mandated to arrest and prosecute violators,’’ the statement read.

The state government also announced that additional 2,000 tricycles, 100 18-seater buses and 100 cars would be added to the state mass transit pool to ease the movement
